Supporting independence of the disabled with proper information and latest technology.
Amedia was established in 1989 by a blind man, Yu Mochizuki, to assist the blind with computer-based products.
Amedia's philosophy is that the new advanced technology should be used to assist the disabled in diminishing the obstacles they have to face in their lives and society.
Based on our philosophy, we currently carry on the following activities:
(1) We produce and distribute Yomubee, the Japanese text reader for visually impaired Japanese speakers and for foreign Japanese students, visually impaired or not, who need help with reading understanding and pronouncing text written in the Japanese language.
(2) We develop many software products for MS-Windows, which use Japanese synthetic speech and/or braille output devices.
(3) We distribute high-quality products for the visually inpaired in Japan.
(4) We inform the community on the needs of the visually inpaired, specially in the field of advanced computer-based assistive technology through our business activities.
We are taking an action to be to an international company, which cooperates with any other companies, agencies and persons who have the same philosophy.
